Your Character Reminds Me Of (Insert real life pro wrestler HERE)

'Triple X' Sean Stevens- Dude, you ARE the Rated R Superstar. Yeah, Stevens reminds me of Edge, and I'm pretty sure Stevens was Edge before Edge was Edge. So does that mean Edge just reminds me of Stevens? Good call, Jamar.

JTP- Attitude wise, he reminds me of "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, but 5,000 times more crude. And I don't say this merely because he's involved in an angle with the NFW President. Physically, I picture JTP being a Cactus Jack type.

Craig Miles- He's The Sandman, except with real mic skills.

The First- Jeff Hardy, but I had a leg up on this since Stanton's readily admitted Hardy as his prototype.

Dan Ryan- Kevin Nash. BIG SEXY! Ryan's a big dude, but he's a fierce trash talker with wit to boot.

Hornet- Sting, but I'm pretty sure Chad's influence for the character has been clear for a while.

Shane Southern- His moveset and physical appearance is supposed to be something like Shawn Michaels, but his persona always reminded me of the Southern incarnation of Bret Hart. Even his heel turn was reminiscent of Bret's (blaming the fans, etc). Hmm, perhaps he's the REAL Shawn Hart?

Olvir- He's a cross between Hulk Hogan and Val Venis. AWESOME!

As for my guys, here's a rundown:

Problem Child- Justin Credible/X-Pac. Cheap heat all around!

Layne Winters- Physically, he's Shane Douglas. Persona is based off a combination of early Shane Douglas/ECW Steve Austin. Backstory is your typically tragic pro-wrestling life outside the ring.

Just One Dude Looking For Adventure Yet Totally Willing To Party Along The Way (J1D)- Rob Van Dam, except 20 times more stoned.

Arcangel IV- Super Crazy, combined with an ultra-nationalist Konnan.

terence- All my friends in high school, one in particular.

Castor V. Strife- My prize character, really not based off of any wrestlers. I'd say he's my most original character, but some of the influences came from Ed Wood (the movie), and the I-Claudius adaptation of the Emperor Caligula. People have told me he reminds them of Goldust, and I definitely see some similarities, but I wasn't really thinking of Goldust when I made Castor. The idea for the gas mask came from Psycho Mantis (Metal Gear Solid). Recently somebody brought up Mantis when telling me what they thought of Castor, and I thought that was awesome.

Ok, this blog entry clearly sucked. How can I un-suck this blog? Ehh...just scroll up and get me some more Shutt...

  1. When I had The First's gimmick figured out, I really didn't know what body type to give him, when UCW opened I knew I was gonna use the character but had no stats for him. I decided I wanted a small high flyer and Jeff Hardy fit the bill for what kind of physical outlook I was going for. Of course my favorite Hardy spot at the time was the 'run along the security wall and throw a back flip at the opponent' and I don't think First ever used that...So boo.

  2. My idea for Impulse was the anti - Eli Flair, so who would that make him? :)

  3. Whenever I think of Stevens, he usually reminds me of a hybrid between Sean Michaels' in-ring abilities mixed with the cockiness and mic skills of Chris Jericho.

  4. @Pete simple. If Impulse is supposed to be the anti-Eli, and the anti-Eli is Impulse, that makes Impulse ... Impulse. :-)

@Ryan that's the perfect description, considering when I created Stevens, I had no idea who Edge was. He was created in the image and likeness of Shawn Michaels, and when I became a fan of Jericho, I kinda tried to make him a little sharper on the stick.

  5. Well hey, I did give you credit for being Edge before Edge was Edge. :-)

Stevens just reminds me more of Edge than a Jericho or HBK. Didn't he also steal somebody's woman, too? I already liked Stevens, but I think I liked him more when I started seeing the similarities between him and the Rated R Superstar. What can I say? I'm an Edge mark!

  6. So really, what this is all saying is, we've done all this work in EPW just to re-hash the Edge Vs Jeff Hardy feud...

  7. After months of research and a particularly adventurous bender that left me waking up with dog shit in my hair in the middle of an elementary school playground, I found my inspiration for Fusenshoff.... he's a hybrid combination of both Oscar The Grouch from Sesame Street and Eeeyore from Winnie The Pooh.

As far as his wrestling skills are concerned, I don't really care as long as nobody E-V-E-R kicks out of the DOMINATION. Ever...
